COVID-19 – Informação da Universidade Católica Portuguesa no Porto
A Universidade Católica Portuguesa está a seguir as recomendações da Direção Geral de Saúde, que recomenda práticas de prevenção de infeção: medidas de higiene e de etiqueta respiratória. Na sequência destas recomendações, serão montados os dispensadores de desinfetante para as mãos em todos os locais de acesso aos diversos Edifícios da Católica no Porto.
Quais são as medidas de segurança, incluindo as de etiqueta respiratória?
- Lave frequentemente as mãos, com água e sabão, esfregando-as bem durante pelo menos 20 segundos, incluindo o dorso das mãos e unhas.
- Reforce a lavagem das mãos frequentemente e antes e após a preparação e consumo de alimentos, após o uso da casa de banho e sempre que as mãos lhe pareçam sujas;
- Pode também usar em alternativa, para higiene das mãos, uma solução à base de álcool;
- Use lenços de papel (de utilização única) para se assoar;
- Deite os lenços usados num caixote do lixo e lave as mãos de seguida;
- Tussa ou espirre para o braço com o cotovelo fletido e não para as mãos;
- Evite tocar nos olhos, no nariz e na boca com as mãos sujas ou contaminadas com secreções respiratórias.
Siga os procedimentos de conduta social: evitar o aperto de mão, abraços e beijos.
Quais os sintomas de alguém infetado e o que fazer?
A infeção pelo coronavírus pode ser semelhante a uma gripe comum ou apresentar-se mais grave, como uma pneumonia. As pessoas infetadas podem apresentar sinais e sintomas de infeção respiratória aguda como febre, tosse e dificuldade respiratória. O tratamento é dirigido aos sinais e sintomas apresentados.
Alertamos toda a comunidade académica que as pessoas que são mais frequentemente atingidas e com maior gravidade, as mais vulneráveis, pertencem a dois grupos:
- Os maiores de 60 anos
- Os portadores de doenças crónicas (hipertensão, doenças respiratórias, diabetes, cancro, etc)

Tem algum dos sinais e sintomas da doença e não está nas instalações da Católica no Porto?
Qualquer elemento da comunidade académica que apresente sintomas de doença respiratória e que suspeite que possa estar contagiado, e antes de se deslocar a um serviço de saúde, deve ligar 808 24 24 24 (SNS24), informando sobre a sua condição de saúde e historial de potencial contágio (viagem ou contacto com contaminados), seguindo as orientações que vierem a ser indicadas.
Esteve numa área afetada?
Se sim, todos os estudantes, docentes e colaboradores regressados dessas áreas, devem ficar em casa durante 14 dias e informar imediatamente a Universidade Católica Portuguesa, através do email covid19@porto.ucp.pt

As you are aware, the outbreak of pneumonia by the coronavirus currently known as COVID-19, is occurring in a large majority in China and the Asian continent. In Europe, Italy is the country of most concern, however, there are cases in almost all countries.
The Universidade Católica Portuguesa, is following the recommendations of the Directorate-General of Health, which recommends infection prevention practices: hygiene measures and respiratory etiquette. Following these recommendations, hand sanitizer dispensers will be installed at all public access points to Católica Porto.
What are the security measures, including those of respiratory etiquette?
• Wash your hands frequently with soap and water, rubbing them well for at least 20 seconds, including the back of your hands and nails.
• Reinforce hand washing frequently and before and after food preparation and consumption, after using the bathroom and whenever your hands feel dirty;
• You can also alternatively use an alcohol-based solution for hand hygiene;
• Use tissues (single use) to blow your nose;
• Throw used tissues in a waste bin and wash your hands immediately;
• Cough or sneeze into the arm with the elbow flexed, not the hands;
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with your hands dirty or contaminated with respiratory secretions.
• Follow social conduct procedures: avoid handshaking, hugging and kissing.
What are the symptoms of someone infected and what to do?
Coronavirus infection can be similar to a common flu or more severe, such as pneumonia. Infected people may experience signs and symptoms of acute respiratory infection such as fever, cough and difficulty breathing. Treatment is directed at the signs and symptoms presented.
We alert the entire academic community that the people who are most frequently affected and most severely affected, the most vulnerable, belong to two groups:
• People over 60
• People with chronic diseases (cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, respiratory diseases, diabetes, cancer, etc.)
Do you have signs and symptoms of Covid-19 and are you currently in Católica Porto?

Do you have signs and symptoms of Covid-19, but you are not in Católica Porto?
Any member of the academic community who has symptoms of respiratory disease and who suspects that he or she may be infected, and before going to a health service, should call 808 24 24 24 (SNS24), informing them of their health condition and health history of potential contagion (travel or contact with contaminated), following the guidelines that may be indicated.
Have you been in an affected area?
All students, teachers and employees returned from the affected areas, must stay at home for 14 days, should call 808 24 24 24 (SNS24) and immediately inform the Portuguese Catholic University, through the email covid19@porto.ucp.pt .
Are you not in Católica Porto and have you been confirmed a positive diagnosis?
